I’ve been writing in one form or another since I was a wee lass and finally decided to try and make a profession of it several years ago. Left the I.T. profession, graduated from journalism school and decided to follow the (very) niche path of game journalism after a rather impromptu trip to E3 in 2005.
I’ve worked as an editor for Game Console magazine (when it used to be in print), a reviewer and game editor for Gamefreaks, Buttonmasher and Gameplanet.
In 2009, Mr. Hal Halpin located my (then) personal blog about video games (what is now www.gameculture.co.nz), and I was offered a freelance position to work for his publication, www.gameculture.com. I did this for almost two years after relocating my focus back to the New Zealand game industry and community this year (2011).
I now own and operate Game Culture NZ Ltd along with a dedicated team of writers that includes some well-known local writing talent. I pursue this project as well as freelancing for various magazines and websites in New Zealand including Interface Magazine, which was awarded Magazine of the Year in 2010.
My other writing pursuits include editing Pop Culture Reviews which has recently been updated with a new look. That’s where you’ll find my reviews on movies, DVDs and anything else pop culture-related including comics, books, manga and anime (when I get time).
